It is one of the very important questions regarding pregnancy that whether a pregnant lady should exercise or nor? If she should exercise then which type of exercises she should stick to and how much to exercise are another important questions. Exercise is recommended during normal pregnancy. It is healthy to exercise during pregnancy; the only thing one should take care of is that the exercise should be moderate not exhausting or straining one. It should be done under supervision of the experts and caution should always be maintained. A pregnant lady can do appropriate exercises during the total nine months of the pregnancy. Pregnancy exercises should be gentle and appropriate to be performed during various stages of pregnancy. Exercising during pregnancy should be included on regular basis so as to tone the whole maternal system which is already taking extra load. Pregnancy exercises should help to make the pelvic muscles healthier, strong, and flexible. Joints bear excess weight during pregnancy so appropriate exercises like stretching exercises should be regularly done especially during the second and third trimester of pregnancy to keep them strong enough.

Pregnancy exercises result in release of endorphins, which is related to good mood. One should take care to remain hydrated during the pregnancy exercises if the weather is hot and humid.
One of the best pregnancy exercises is swimming. Swimming makes use of most of the muscles of the body and is an excellent cardiovascular exercise. It is also beneficial for the regulation of endocrine system, joint flexibility, back and leg pain. This pregnancy exercise is best during third trimester of the pregnancy.
Spinning is another wonderful pregnancy exercise but should not be strenuous. It is safe to do this pregnancy exercise until seventh month of the pregnancy. Spinning is also a cardiovascular exercise like swimming. Spinning is beneficial for stomach and pelvic muscles. Apart from all these benefits of spinning, it is most valued as an exercise which tones the muscles which are responsible for facilitating the process of delivery.
Duration of exercise, intensity of exercise, and type of exercise should be adjusted according to the personal needs of the mom’s body. Overindulgence in pregnancy exercise should always be avoided as this could make way for the complications. Pregnancy exercise should be immediately avoided if it results in shortness of breath and bleeding and medical assistance should be taken for the same.
